For a porcelain floor, use Tallahassee Flooring Contractors Group to request a conversation with an independent provider.
Check what supports the tile
Tile does not solve movement or damaged subflooring underneath it. Have the installer assess the base and explain which preparation or supporting layers are required.
A kitchen floor and a wet area can require different assemblies. Ask what the proposed system protects and which tasks belong to another trade.
Approve layout before setting begins
Large tiles can highlight an uneven surface. Discuss joint width, offset and the product maker's layout guidance before choosing a pattern.
Look at where cuts land at doorways, cabinets and visible room edges. Ask how the tile height will meet adjoining flooring and whether doors need attention.
Include finishing and return to use
Your quote should identify the tile, setting materials, grout, trim and removal work. Ask whether sealing is required for the selected grout rather than assuming every grout needs it.
Get care and return to use instructions for the actual materials. Keep spare tile from the same project for a possible future repair.
